good rant about Tara on True Blood
Let me ride on the back of the last post I reblogged, and tell you all about how I learned tonight to stay away from the True Blood tags on Tumblr. Cut for spoilers for the latest episode of True Blood, but also for trigger warnings of rape, kidnapping and very abusive relationships, possible sexism, sexist language, and you know generally the kind of shit that goes down on True Blood. Also, lots of swearing. Not trigger warning, but heads up.

Found this through the True Blood tag. Tara is indeed an amazing character, and I’m constantly disappointed in fan reactions to her. Tara, a survivor several times over of abuse and rape, is ‘whiny, weak, and annoying’ for variously being traumatized, expressing rage, or fighting back.
